"I like a full lawn."
These were my exact words this morning as I looked out our bedroom window at the overgrown grass we call a front lawn. Tricia laughed. She knows well enough that I'd find any excuse possible to avoid having to mow the lawn. When we were newly married and looking for our first house, I had only one requirement: a small lawn.
I looked at the sky but there was little hope of rain. It's funny how as a child you hate the rain but as an adult you find so many reasons to appreciate it. The threat of rain saved me last weekend from lugging out the lawnmower. It never actually rained but it felt like it might. That was enough for me.
Without any valid excuses in sight, I did it. The lawn, while not the nicest looking on the street or anything, is shorter than it was last night. Mission accomplished.
For another two weeks!
